I am a white non-binary trans person from New Orleans, Louisiana. I moved to Washington state a few years ago, after graduating from the University of New Orleans with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. I've spent most of my life in the south (Louisiana and Tennessee) and I went to art school in New York City in my early 20s, and I'm still learning the cultural ways of the Pacific Northwest. I was raised middle-class, and I'm the sibling of a younger brother with developmental disabilities. Before I became a therapist, I worked with plants as a native plant nursery owner, environmental educator, landscaper and farm manager/trainer. I'm still so passionate about and connected to the plant world, and I'm happy to join therapy clients in natural settings where our connection to nature can deepen our healing.

Specialties
I believe that healing and change is possible in therapy when we can experience, honor, and learn from our deepest emotions. I use the therapy tool of Brainspotting to support participants to connect with and focus on their emotions and related body sensations--and because our brains and bodies are amazing, and where we look effects how we feel--this process allows gentle and profound positive shifts to move through our heart, mind, and nervous system. Brainspotting is supportive for people experiencing anxiety, stuck trauma responses, mind-body disconnection, difficulty understanding their emotions, relationship challenges, grief, perfectionism and fear of uncertainty, low self-worth, and many other human challenges.
Brainspotting is a somatic approach, meaning that we will connect to our bodies in order to heal mental distress. This approach is very different than talk therapy, which facilitates change through discussion and adaptations of thinking and behavior. Sure, we will talk about challenges when that is what you need, but we will also make time throughout our work together to do the slow work of deep emotional and bodily healing.
