Leo
Massey
Hi everyone! My name is Leo Massey and I am a dedicated therapist with a passion for supporting tweens/teens and young adults as they navigate a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, ADHD, LGBTQ+ concerns, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), PTSD, complex PTSD, religious trauma, and generational trauma. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their unique experiences and work toward healing and growth.
I employ evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), DBT Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, including exposure therapy), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My professional development includes comprehensive DBT training from the Behavioral Tech Institute, ongoing LGBTQ+ CBT training with Yale's Mental Health Initiative, and Jewish/Israeli culturally sensitive trainings like "Understanding Your Jewish Clients: Cultural Competence When Working With the Jewish Population" presented by Rutgers University. Through these diverse approaches and continuous learning, I strive to provide the most effective and compassionate care possible to my clients while meeting them where they are at!
