Hey! I’m MJ. I’m a licensed therapist in the state of hawai’i and I’m also currently pursuing certification as a sex therapist via aasect. I’ve been practicing therapy since 2016 and have worked in a wide variety of settings, utilizing many different modalities, with a wide breadth of the population. as i’ve continued learning and gaining experience, i’ve been in the process of discovering who i am as a clinician. i’ve learned that i’m drawn to somatic, mindfulness-based, relational work with people who are carrying confusion or shame around their relationship to their sexuality. I enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ population and also have a special interest in working with neurodivergent folks and people who have experienced religious trauma. i believe that connection is often synonymous with healing, including connection with ourselves. when i’m not working or adding yet another book about mindfulness to my online shopping cart, i’m at the yoga studio, hanging out with my cat, enjoying honolulu’s local arts culture, or spending time near the ocean.
