daniel lyons, M.A., M.A. is an Oakland based therapist. Danni graduated from Pepperdine University in 2016 with his M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in serving the Latinx community and invites monolingual or bilingual therapy clients. As a transgender therapist himself, Danni is especially attuned to the cultural needs of the LGBTQIA+ community and the Latinx community. He invites anyone struggling with identity conflicts, struggles with gender identity or sexual orientation, multicultural or biracial folx, or anyone seeking to have a healthier relationship with their masculinity to reach out to him.
Danni also holds an M.A. in Urban Education and is an educator at heart. He holds his 200-hour yoga certification and has also undergone training in yoga therapy with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, children's yoga, yoga for teens and families, and yoga for those on the autism spectrum. whatever his client's age, danni believes in helping his clients to tap into their child within to heal from the past and find more joy, more contentedness, and ease, whatever their age may be.
Danni draws strongly from mindfulness and yoga-based practices in his work with clients as a tool for unlocking strength and wisdom within the body. Danni is especially passionate about working with the young and the young at heart. A member of many marginalized communities himself, Danni believes in helping his clients to overcome old tapes and narratives about what it means to belong to an oppressed community in the year 2020 and beyond. danni strives to help his clients find empowerment and resilience as they work to overcome the self-defeating tapes that society is usually writing for us oppressed and marginalized folx.
Danni knows firsthand the value of a therapist that is culturally competent, human, and authentic. He may not have all the answers, but he strives to help you find the answers you've been seeking from somewhere within.
