More about Hope Doucet

I established Authentic Self Therapeutic Services, LLC, in 2022 to support trauma survivors and/or LGBTQ+ people to improve their relationship with themselves and others. Through therapy I hope to support you to express and accept your feelings, identity, perspective, values, and authentic inner nature. Awareness of how life experiences and traumas impact achieving goals - e.g., a closer relationship with yourself and loved ones - helps bring change into focus.

The prolonged impacts of trauma can feel like looking into a distorted mirror and wondering, Who am I? Wherever you are in life, I meet you with guidance to empower you to reject a false self so that your true self is accepted. Accepting yourself may mean accepting your feelings, identity, perspective, values, and authentic inner nature! I believe you have the power within to manifest changes in your unique reality.

I completed a Master of Social Work in 2017 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a specialization in Interpersonal Practice with Children, Youth, and Families and Child Welfare (abuse and neglect). In the spring of 2024, I will complete a two-year, Adult and Child/Adolescent Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training program through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

The most valuable information I take forward from life, clinical experience, and educational settings is that everyone needs safety, support, trust, and hope.

P.S. You are brave to be here, right now.
